Dawnbreaker needed a new system to ensure proper billing to all of it's clients. It's something that's taken very seriously with contract work, specifically government contracts as hours that are billed to them are being paid for by tax payers. This had to be a unique time management system as not everyone in the company bills the same way and many different people need to sign off on time cards to ensure proper billing. This was accomplished by allowing for a variety of interchangeable billing widgets that could easily fit into this new style regardless of how you billed but produce the same output report for managers to be able to quickly review.

This site was designed around an established brand that was base in all of the promotional print materials. The challenge in this site is to maintain a consistent looking brand for each year's event while providing a site that is simple and easy to use as the year before while still attempting to innovate.

A tool needed to be developed to help with collaboration on a quarterly newsletter. It contains many stories by multiple contributors that all have to be approved and reviewed by multiple members of the team. The biggest problem here was to translate what has been a paper system up until now to the web. This system needed to remain as easy to use as the paper system had been or it would be abandoned. This was accomplished by just having one admin who controlled all the tasks the users would see. Simple deadlines are set with straight forward, color coded tasks so you know at a glance what is a priority.

dawnbreaker

Dawnbreaker needed to reposition itself as a company with distinct offerings for all of their diverse clients, including Navy and NASA. Needing to show their different offerings under one unified brand, individualized sections were created to give each area its own feel while still maintaining a unified Dawnbreaker brand.

portals

This series of portals was developed in conjunction with the main site repositioning. They also needed to be presented uniquely but maintain the same branding. I accomplished this with a unique color and logo for each portal that all had the same feel but had it's own unique style.

Scientific Systems Company came to us with a very dated, barebones site. They wanted to create a much more robust and attractive site that could be easily maintained by someone within their company. I designed a site that uses Wordpress as a way for them to easily update the content of their site while maintaining the designs integrity.

elearning

Dawnbreaker developed an e-learning site to for their small business clients to keep them on track for completing their commercialization plan. The information architecture of this site was the biggest challenge. I developed an interface that displayed a large amount of information in a way that wouldn't overwhelm the user.

It's often hard when getting your job done relies on someone else doing theirs first. This site was developed to try to help with that problem for getting documents approved. A website had to be created that streamlined the current workflow for this process and make it incredibly simple and easy to use. This was accomplished by analyzing the current system and boiling it down to the five main sections that were required for final approval. To make it as straightforward as possible I put the indications of red, yellow, green right in the navigation so it's one of the first things you see. When you log in it's instantly clear what sections need your attention.

The goal of this project was to create a unified source of information on a variety of topics for the Navy's small business client and technical points of contact. With information spread across many media types for each topic, maintaining simplicity and ease of use proved to be a unique challenge. The use of icons in the navigation solved this problem by creating consistency and familiarity for the user between media types across topics.

I created a system to organize and report all of Dawnbreaker's print materials. It needed to be simple, clean and easy enough for any member of the staff to use.
